After a little reading, breakfast, and a bit more reading, we found we had both finished our books in just two and a half days - a record for such slow readers as us!

We saw a rare Zanzibar suni antelope near our lodge and saw another (or possibly the same one) later in the day when we decided to venture along the path that went through the centre of the island. This was the only time during the whole of our stay on Mnemba that we wore any footwear (bar flippers for snorkelling). In the afternoon we also attempted to kayak around the island in a tandem kayak. This proved to be much harder work that it perhaps looked and involved capsizing on at least two occasions.

A lunch of pumpkin and coconut soup and beef salad, and a dinner of lobster and prawn spring roll (salad for Becky) and a delicious, fresh tuna dish meant that we went to bed well fed once again.
